Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, hotel in Williams, Arizona, USA

Booked this adventure a month in advance. The Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is not too far from the highway and is easy to find. Registration was relatively easy. The room was clean, as was the washroom. The kids had a great time. The hotel is within walking distance of the railway.

I stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel for 1 night on 12/10/18 with my sister & 4 year old niece the night we took her on the Polar Express. There are no bellmen or parking valets here but they do have several luggage carts for the guests to use. There was a wait for them when we arrived & checked out but at least they had them. The parking situation at the entrance is very chaotic with everyone jockeying for spaces near the entrance & needing to leave their cars unattended until they're able to get back to park them. They really need some staff to at least manage the flow of traffic. Once we were checked in, I found parking on the back side of the hotel. It would have been a long walk at check out with the loaded baggage cart so I drove back around to the entrance and loaded the car. The lobby has a large fireplace & was decorated nicely for the holidays. Check-in was easy & they had our train tickets, which was convenient. Our room was a Deluxe with two beds — it was pretty basic but was clean & fine for our one night stay. We had dinner at Spenser's (their bar but children are allowed) & it was fine. Nothing special but not bad either. Our waitress was nice and also efficient. I booked the hotel & rail tickets separately & did not purchase the package that includes dining. The restaurant is all buffet & seems to get very crowded when all the train passengers are trying to feed their families the meal they've already paid for in time to catch the train. Also, by booking the room separately, we were eligible for the AAA discount which was nice & is not available on the package. The hotel is adjacent to the train terminal & the decor on the walk to the terminal was festive & whimsical. They have a little theatre that shows «The Polar Express» which is a nice touch. Lots of photo opps! Overall, it met our needs for the night.

We stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel for 2 nights and we had a wonderful time! The hotel rooms were spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids, and were nicer than I expected. The hotel offered so many things to keep the kids busy like showing the movie on a loop near the lobby, they had letters to Santa available everywhere and a mailbox to drop them in. There were photos with Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, coloring in the warming room, the gift shop, lights show and of course the trains which the kids were in awe of. Despite the sheer number of people getting on the Polar Express every night it never felt overly crowded, we never waited in lines for anything. The entire operation is obviously planned out very well. The train ride itself was fantastic with the music, singing, hot chocolate and cookies. The kids were simply blown away and it was really something special even for the adults. The entire town was easily accessible, everyone was very friendly and accoldating of our large group for breakfast and dinner. Again, we never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table which was really nice when traveling with kids. We will definitely do it again soon!!!

It was such an amazing experience for my family to visit the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel! We signed up for the train at 5:30, and we had a lot of problems with the car on the way to the flagpole, and we stopped right at 5:30, I was very grateful that you guys delayed the train for a few extra minutes! The hotel was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We went with friends and someone how the rooms were connected! It was good with the price, and I will continue to go every year as my son grows and my family grows! Thank you for such a magical experience for my family!

For the second year in a row, my family had a wonderful time at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and at the Polar Express, at the Clean Hotel, with good food at the buffet, even on the evening when we were on the train, we even had snow. The kids liked it…
